DESCRIPTION: This style of gong is popularly referred to as a “nipple” type gong featuring a unique raised center boss. Dream’s Bao gongs are unlathed and feature a deeply turned back flange. They are pitched; having a distinctive, focused pitch center. Bao gongs ring with one primary tone through their entire sonic duration and, although this series is not specifically tuned to selected chromatic pitches, the larger the diameter of the gong is, the lower the pitch sounds. |
