DESCRIPTION: The Coady Clutch is an innovative new drop clutch from the folks at Billdidit. The clutch features a composite pivoting disk that attaches to your high hat pull rod and uses magnets to hold up the top high hat cymbal. When the disk is hit with a drumstick, it rocks just enough to disengage and release the top cymbal. When you press down on your high hat pedal, the magnets reconnect and the clutch pulls your top cymbal up again. It has a slick, yet unobtrusive look, it's durable and it's really easy to use. The disk provides a nice large target so you don't have to be a marksman to hit the right spot. In fact, the entire disk is the right spot. This may very well be the easiest to use clutch out there. The company also offers some optional products to go with the Coady Clutch. The Coady Wash Control is a small disk that sits in the cup of your bottom high hat cymbal. This adjustable disk controls the space between the hats when the top cymbal is released from the clutch. It allows you to control the amount of wash you get from your hats. It's easy to use, easy to adjust, and it's effective, and the Wash Control will work with any drop clutch you already have. The Coady Trip Arm makes the Coady Clutch a hands-free drop clutch. It attaches to your high hat stand and allows you to operate your Coady Clutch without striking the disk. All you need to do it step off the high hat pedal and the Coady Trip Arm strikes the disk for you, making the entire process of engaging and releasing the clutch a hands-free operation. Very cool. |
